When I was small I used to think….. that teddy hugs

Were all that saved me…..from nasty, big, bed bugs

I’d snuggle down beneath the sheets

A hot water bottle at my feet

And as the night got darker still

I quaked and shivered there until……

Something soft and fluffy stirred

As I turned within my bed I heard….

A noise which caused my fear to end

My Teddy said ‘I am your friend’

Now I’m grown he looks a sight

His nose is flat, his eyes still bright

One ear has seen much better days

Evidence of rough and tumble plays

But even so, when life is grim

I still sit and have a hug with him

So remember when you’re feeling low

Just shrug…….and have a teddy hug
