Can you give us a brief overview of your book MINECRAFT 1: Steve and the Seven Iron Golems?

This is a re-imagination of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves with a male lead and in Minecraft. Everything is catered to the Minecraft that we know and love.

Your amazon page mentions “Minecraft” over 100 times… So I take it your book is based on the game phenomenon.  For our readers, who do not what Minecraft is, please give some details.

This book is based in the Minecraft world, as is the whole series. The reason Minecraft is listed so much is because I add my own keywords for a broader search return.

There is a certain similarity in your book, to a certain much loved fairy-tale.  Does “Steve and the 7 Iron Golems” follow the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, or can readers expect some surprises?

Yes, it does follow the same line, but deviates on its own as well. The lead is a male who is a Prince and the one who saves him is a girl. There are some cute surprises along the way and it doesn’t follow the classic fairy tale exactly.

There is so much magic and creativity associated with “Minecraft” and it is great that you can introduce this world to others through literary work.  Will you be writing more stories for readers to enjoy?

Yes, I plan on 14 books, with the next four being based on Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, King Arthur, and Beauty and the Beast.

Who would you suggest would find your book enjoyable?

They are written for grades 1st through 5th in terms of reading, but it would be enjoyable for anyone who loves Minecraft. My own kids helped me write these, they are 8 and 12.

Can you tell us more about yourself?  Obviously you have an interested in Minecraft, but what else do you do, and enjoy?

I am a writer, lover of all things fun and interesting and father of 5 children ages 20-8. We currently live on a farm with chickens, rabbits, dogs, goats and a rather rude pig. I love to read and really enjoy spending time with my family exploring the area and learning about history and unique cool things.

What is your favourite element of Minecraft?  And what has been your most impressive build?

My favourite element is being able to add all the different add-ons. Together, my sons and I have built and entire world based on fairy tales. Currently, we are even working on a Minecraft world from the Series that will be posted in Youtube videos in the future so that others can see what the book worlds would look like in game!

What will you be working on next, do you have any plans for more Minecraft related stories, or a different project?

I am currently working on the next book in the series, untitled but a Red Riding Hood cross over. I also write for another historical mystery genre for adults and am slowly working on my next big book there, with 3 already published.

What words of guidance would you offer to someone who was interested in writing?

Great question! Take your time. Allow your ideas to flow freely using either typing or voice to type. Then go back and arrange them and add and subtract. My favorite way to write is to sit and relax with a cup of tea and use Google Docs and the speak to text on my phone. I just talk about what I see in my imagination as the story develops in my head. Later, I go back and take a look at it all and see what fits and what doesn’t.
